All this began one New Year's Eve in a roof bar in Panama City. Following the local tradition, Helena and Peter Hjalmarsson were downing 12 grapes as midnight chimed, and wishing for a fantastic 2020, filled with lots of great travel. The rest is history – in February the world was struck by the coronavirus and the idea of travel felt suddenly difficult and far off. But if you like to travel, you travel. Helena and Peter decided to travel virtually instead, and the first Vacation in a Box was born.

Vacation in a Box is a green solution for those who prefer not to fly. It can also be an informative preparation for a forthcoming trip, so you get more out of it.

Vacation in a Box is now a part of Interes AB, which develops and sells virtual journeys packaged together with recipes, activities, and physical items which will together create a home-based travel experience. Interes AB has been in existence since 2010.
